Delphine PA Dang is a Vietnamese artist, photographer and researcher-in-training based in Sydney. She approaches photography and creatives from the point of view of her close relationship with Data Science-Statistics and International Relations.
Delphine’s intellectual focus encompasses political theory, political thought, neoliberalism. Her artistic practice is strongly research-oriented and involves fieldwork.
In Delphine's practice, the concept operates as an originary force, an immanent logic that precedes and determines its own conditions of material instantiation. The medium does not pre-exist the work but is called forth by the idea itself, such that photography, video art, and film emerge not as discrete disciplinary choices but as contingent modalities through which thought achieves its sensible form. The artwork, in this sense, is less an object than an event of mediation between concept and matter.
Beyond the primary creative pursuits, Delphine also practises acting, composing, and singing. In collaboration, Delphine assumes the roles of producer, composer-vocalist, assistant director, and strategic manager to realize the visions for artists and brands.
Delphine trained for seven years in opera singing, an undertaking that began after winning the Golden Buzzer on Vietnam's Got Talent, a moment that marked the start of her professional vocal training. Alongside opera singing, she plays bass and has a background in ballet, theatre, and acting. These performative disciplines inform her wider artistic sensibility, shaping how she approaches composition, presence, and narrative across her visual and research-driven work.
